Pepperbox Hill

And the afternoon was spent walking round Pepperbox Hill. This area comprises of woodland and a watchtower built in 1606. On 2nd June 1896, Guglielmo Marconi was granted the world’s first patent for Wireless Telegraphy. As part of his demonstrations to the services in 1896, Marconi used this site as a receiving station.
