Code Books

The BBC reports here that a code hidden by a judge in his written judgement in the failed Da Vinci Code plagiarism case has now been broken.

I really liked The DaVinci Code and enjoyed even more Angels and Demons but I have to say his worst one out of the four in my opinion is Digital Fortress. However has anyone noticed that in the last page of the book there are the following numbers: 128-10-93-85-10-128-98-112-6-6-25-126-39-1-68-78 which on seeking out the first letter of the chapters and constructing a Caesar Square decodes to say “We are watching you”. I think this is a nice touch but it still doesn’t hide the fact that this is a rubbish book.

The DaVinci Code also contains something similar too. Apparently by copying down the bold letters in the introduction you get “Is there no help for the widow’s son” something I have yet to try as I’ve lent me copy out.

Will no one help the widow’s son is a Masonic distress call. Try shouting it at an airport!
