Now that the days are longer and the weather is slowly improving, I am starting the vary my running routes incorporating footpaths and country tracks. I am always amazed at how much wildlife and colour I encounter en route (its as if everything burst into life the moment the clocks went back) and because of this I decided to take my small Nikon camera out for a run with me. After spotting many colourful flowers in the hedgerows I came across this abandoned water pump and putting ones ear to it you can hear chirping of chicks as it would appear something is nesting within. Not wishing to disturb I quickly snapped and continued on my way happy with my discovery.

I don’t think I’ll be making a habit out of this as it prevents you from running continuously and as a result I found I was stopping a great deal and not really achieving much. Once in a while might be nice though.
