Stag Do’s and Stag Don’ts

I hate the term ‘Stag Do’, it sounds so blokish don’t you think. When I hear the words ‘Stag Do’ images of packs of drunken idiots dressed as Elvis shouting “I want to knoooooooooooooooooooow, if you’ll be my girl!” whilst stumbling round the streets of Edinburgh. It seemed when I lived up there that Edinburgh was the stag and hen capital of the world as it seemed that not a weekend went by when you wouldn’t bump into some pissed up div attempting the Rose Street pub crawl along with all the other rugby players. It is with great relief that mine couldn’t be more different.

I wanted to have an activity weekend, inviting a few friends to join in the experience and all accomplishing something together. The Sunday is booked, we’ll be caving in Cheddar Gorge followed by a spot of rock climbing too. The best man and I are currently hunting round for somewhere for us all to stay as this as well as Saturday’s activities have yet to be organised yet but theres still plenty of time. Hopefully it’ll involve a spot of mountain biking. But all this aside, the best bit of all I am looking forward to the most is just spending time with the good friends I have. Although a little hesitant about the caving and climbing (as am I), I am really touched that my friends want to join me in celebrating my last days of freedom and I look forward to accomplishing these tasks together.
