TWTB and I tootled down to Portsmouth this morning to take part in The Great South Run which is a 10 mile run. The start was what I feared the most as theres a great deal of elbowing in an atempt to get ahead but luckily it wasn’t that bad and amazingly I routed out good old Mr Phil in the massive crowd and ran with him from the start and which I found to be a great support. Thanks matey.
I have to say the last two miles of the course although sounds rather appealing when I tell you it was along the sea front but what if I then went on to say it had to be the worse weather possible. It was horrid with rain lashing in your face and a strong head wind. This is where I slowed a little but kept at it (the encouragement of spectators really helped at this point I found) and crossed the finishing line in 1h 25m 02s which I am not be any means disappointed with but felt I could have done better in fairer weather conditions and without a rubbish left knee. Well done to all.
