I saw one of these last weekend and decided to purchase one for myself. This bluetooth GPS cost under £30 from the Bay of E and I’m mightily impressed with it. It basically syncs with any bluetooth enabled phone which is then used to display GPS data obtained from the receiver. Coupled with the correct software, one has a navigational system for the car for example but I’m experimenting with software aimed more at the orienteering side of things at the minute. I’m finding the free java applications for my K800i phone pretty sophisticated and look forward to playing around with them some more. You can even sync it up with Google Maps if you wish though I’m a little cautious of the cost of doing so.

As its able to do everything my Garmin does and more (plus its smaller too), its looking more and more likely this will be the geocaching instrument of choice in future.
