I had been wanting to try my hand at meccano weaponry for a few days now after seeing some inspiring footage on Youtube and decided to don my Dr E Brown Enterprises top and have a bash at it this morning. First up the trebuchet. Now the video I saw involved a couple of 10 year old kids who had made something similar. I know theres quite a bit of maths involved in making these things but I figured if kids can make these things then so could I.

Not so. It would appear to be harder than it looks. I think the secret is in the speed of the swing and the length of string used. Playing around with these two factors enabled me to shoot marbles and stones across the room about 1 attempt out of 5 for a considerable distance. The enemy then put her foot down and play was suspended.
No time to hang around, help was needed cutting back a friends massive conifer that had got a little out of control. Three hours later after much wobbly cutting branches on a massively high ladder, the tree looked like it had a pretty bad hair cut. It’ll grow out I guess.
Onward still as I met friends at the cinema to see the new Transformers film. Still picking branches out of my clothes we took our seats and were amazed at what we saw. Theres a few cheesey bits in it but overall it was great to watch and it takes a lot to impress me so leave your wives at home and go see it.
