Easter Monday Cycle

A friend and myself found a nice website detailing a small collection of mountain bike routes around the Salisbury area and as it looked like the weather was going to let up a little today we decided to give one of them a try. Click here to view all the routes but the one we decided on was the route titled Chicken Farm.

I found the hills hard and it wasn’t helped by Tim pulling up his front wheel and riding on his rear for some of them. I would love to be that confident on my bike, it just comes with practice I guess and old Tim has a few years head start on me. Anyway, despite cutting the route short by about 5 miles due to time constraints and weather, I still feel a great deal of satisfaction having completed it and although my legs aren’t working at the minute, I’m looking forward very much to the next ride which will hopefully be a little drier.

Tim mending puncture

My bike is caked in mud, so much so that I’ve had to invest in a 19p scrubbing brush from town to clean up after the muds had a chance to dry.
