Today was the big day, Sky Cam was going to be launched.

Taking a trip out to the headquarters of the Guild of Legendary Engineers, final modifications were made to camera rig in a bid to make it steadier.

Once completed and after a fine meal of pizza, the engineers headed out on bike to the launch site worrying all the way about the terrible weather brewing on the horizon.

With a race against time, the kite was launched to see how well it handled under the conditions before the rig was attached using a rather nifty toggle method cunningly devised back in the workshop.

We did manage to get it airborne but then it came back down to earth with a large bump. And just as it hit the ground with great force, the heavens opened and we got absolutely soaked.

Although disappointing all was not a complete failure, we came away with some really useful points and new ideas for improvement.
