As I was giving Novemberfive the yearly spring clean I noticed that I had been using the old template for over two years now and for someone who is well known for getting bored with designs very quickly, thats a long time.
So the more observant ones amongst you will notice that I’ve been tinkering with a new design. Although not finished at the time of writing this, it is heading in the right direction - I’m aiming for somewhat of an antiquity feel with a hint of steampunk. I am also becoming a fan of the 1 column template as I feel this encourages a better designed and more interactive header.
A nice feature I like is the sliding panel. This is activated by clicking on the Navigation button, the panel then slides back to reveal the various sections in which to navigate this site. I am hoping to develop this feature further by replacing the navigation options with an area selling my Flash applications I’ve been making these past few months and other pieces of creative genius too. I notice I get many visitors from the weekly challenges I enter and as majority of them will be of arty stock, thats the ideal audience one would want visiting your online store.
Another feature I am currently experimenting with is the video podcast. Having been encouraged after working on a podcasting site of a national charity I’ve decided to give it a bash myself. As I am still working on it, I will be writing about it later on.
