I’ve been having a go at binding my own notebooks and have been surprised at how easy it was.

1. Cut sheets of paper to your desired size, put them into collections of around 10 sheets and fold in half.
2. Repeat point 1 until you have enough sheets for your book.
3. With a needle or compass pierce 4 holes along the fold of each bundle.
4. Sew with ordinary needle and thread all the bundles together as shown.
5. Select a card cover and attach it to your bound pages by applying glue along the spine.
6. Fill notebook with interesting recipes or train numbers.
After a quick search on the web there appears to be a number of ways to bind but this seemed like the easiest and quickest.

I now plan to design some rather nice covers for my books as well as produce books with plain, lined and graph paper.
