Tonight I took a trip down to the allotment to empty the shed of its contents. Seeing as though we’re very close to moving into our new house out of town we won’t be able to find the time to tend to our allotment. We’ve had this allotment for nearly 5 years now and during that time we’ve gone from not knowing anything about growing our own food to…well…not knowing anything about growing our own food. But the main thing is we’ve had a great time putting in the effort and feeling immensely satisfied when you see the results of your hard work.

I took a final photograph of it just before I left. I think it looks rather sad with nothing growing in it.

Not all is lost though for our new house has a nice loooooong 140ft garden which has great potential, so I can apply my hole digging and weed growing skills elsewhere!
