I had the opportunity today to partake in a surfing lesson off the beach of Bournemouth. I have never surfed before and found it a great deal of fun despite taking me a while to get the technique right. From the shore the waves looked a little tame but up close and personal they had a bit of a kick to them. After about an hour of stumbling around I was able to ride them successfully and managed to stand and pose to the people a couple of times too!
The beaches were packed with spectators for the Bournemouth Air Festival so we had a bit of an audience whilst we struggled to remain upright but how exciting to ride the waves whilst massive planes like the Vulcan flew overhead.
Sadly no photographs yet but there was a camera or two documenting the Baywatch reenactment so stay tuned.
