It was a friend’s birthday at the weekend and we made her a home made (and home laid) present. We made her up a box containing the ingredients and instructions to make the perfect boiled egg. I love the special scissors designed to decapitate the egg once boiled.

So how do you make the perfect boiled egg? Simple just follow these easy steps:

Step 1: Ask an adult to place the egg in boiling water. Set the timer to the desired level of hardness: 4 minutes = Jez Hard, 5 minutes = Fi Hard, 6 minutes = Matt Hard and 7 minutes = Sarah Hard.

Step 2: Ask an adult to remove egg from pan. Place in appropriate receptacle and allow a moment to cool.

Step 3: Remove top of egg. Enjoy with soldiers or any other members of Her Majesty’s forces.
