I was recently alerted to a great little site called Post Crossing by Michael Nobbs (follow him on Twitter by the way to receive fun and interesting arty links). Post Crossing is a project designed to get people from all over the world to send postcards to one another. Once registered you then requested an address to send your postcard too. The site then gives you a contact to write to and once you’ve sent it and its been received, your address will appear when someone on the other side of the globe requests an address.
I’m starting to be more and more creative with mine, going down the route of making my own. I also get out the old paints and add a little colour to the content. A member of Post Crossing can send up to five postcards at any one time so theres plenty of scope for creativity.
Theres many other interesting features about this site too including the plotting of your postcards journey on Google maps which is fun to see.
