We always said that after completing the hallway that any of the final rooms left to do in our house would be a piece of cake - this isn’t proving to be the case. We obviously saved the best until last with the bathroom as we gutted it 2 weeks ago and we’re still not there yet but today saw us get a little closer to emtying bowels indoors rather than having to use the cramped outside campsite shower and loo.
I sold the Rocket last week and used the money to hire a plasterer who has done an amazing job. Now came the task pf painting it. First through the old lino floor had to come up which was disgusting and not what you wanted first thing in the morning - the smell was terrible. Its funny, you would think a bathroom would be the cleanest room in the house but when you start stripping it down, its clearly not.
Next came the painting and I forgot how much I hate doing it. Everything had to be coated twice and I mean everything. It would have been easier to put a firework in the pot of paint, closed the door and wait for the bang. Anyway I’m extremely pleased and relieved to say its now finished though it won’t be until next week that the new suite is plumbed in.

A quick half time sketch was in order to bring the blood pressure down a little.

It’s the urine soaked lino which is the worst. The wee-of-ages and the odd trace of pooh / vomit! Hope you washed your hands before breakfast!
