Visiting Mottisfont

The weather has been great today so we piled into the car and headed off to one of the local National Trust properties - Mottisfont where we put my wife’s staff card to good use in gaining free entry for the two of us. Its been a couple of years since I last visited, I wrote about it here.

This time however it was in full bloom, especially the huge rose garden they have there. I was suprised to see fewer people than expected wondering around the house and grounds, I guess they’re all down at the beach “Binge Tanning” as the news is calling it these days and burning meat on a disposable bbq as is the tradition in this country the moment the sun comes out. And boy did it come out today. When we returned to the car we discovered the half eaten bag of Haribo we left behind had completely melted into one gigantic packet of goo. Goo which is now setting in the fridge.

Looking though my photographs and comparing them to the ones I took in 2007, it would appear that I’ve taken almost exactly the same set now as I did then.

Also whilst there I managed to feature in one of the National Trust’s Tweets and got my photo snapped. You can see it here. Shame about the photographer’s finger in the way!
