I’ve hurt my knee running yet again so I’m taking to my bike for a short while until I’m mended. I feel rather lucky living where I am as theres a huge choice of running and cycling routes to choose from which mainly incorporate Salisbury Plain. If you look out of our window on a clear day you can see whether the military are flying their big red warning flags or not. Yesterday they weren’t and so grabbing just a map and camera I jumped on the old bike and made for the plain with the intention to explore.
I love the way you can throw yourself down their tank tracks on a hot, dry day and really kick up a dust storm, more so if you pull a few impressive skids!. All the tanks that use these tracks have generated so much dust in the past that the lining trees look very ghost like - infact they’re not too far off S1ON’s IR photographs.

Now its the day after and my legs feel i]like they’ve actually done some work. I guess theres a lot to be said for muscle memory if all you do is stick to one form of exercise. I’m pleased to say the bike is now residing in the porch for easy access and will be living there for the next couple of weeks. I’m really looking forward to getting out an about again in the evenings after work and kicking up some more dust.
