Download The Ride

You may remember me writing about having Issue 1 of The Ride Journal land on my door mat at the start of the year (you can refresh your memory here if not). Unfortunately I was a little slow off the mark to get a copy of issue 2 but for those even slower than me and missed even the first issue - never fear, issue 1 is now available as a free pdf download here which is great news. Its a big one so may take a moment or two to download. In it you can read about my good friend Ev and the Highway Cycle Group.

During my two weeks paternity leave I had little opportunity to get out and run the distances I was running before the arrival of Charlie, mainly due to the tiredness and time such runs take to complete. Instead I was out on my bike every day, stretching the old legs and keeping a good supply of oxygen going to the brain. Before the end of the first week I was able to cover a substantial distance in a short space of time and it felt good. By the end of the second week, the distance had plateaued.

I owe a great deal to my two wheeled companion and this weekend if time permits, I wish to strip it down two ensure things are clean and correct to ensure its functioning at its best. I would also like to learn more about bike maintenance and would love to enroll in such a class sometime soon or if anyone knows of a good site to visit, please let me know.
