Gaining Confidence

Yesterday saw us venture out the house for the first time with Charlie as we visited the tea rooms in the neighbouring town. It made the pair of us a little nervous at first but once you get over the fact that your baby isn’t made out of glass we were able to relax a little and enjoy the moment.

We are so lucky where we live to be surrounded by so many walks and woodland and today after test driving the new Phil and Ted pushchair in the back garden, took it for a spin in and around one of these local woods. Charlie slept through the whole thing so it must have been to his liking.

Although this has got to be my first birthday in years which hasn’t involved a ride on a steam train like last years, it has been a most enjoyable day as we start to enjoy doing things as a family - something that feels we’ve been waiting for for so long.

We’re stepping it up a notch tomorrow and introducing Charlie to one of our favourite coffee shops and I can’t wait.
