This summer I have been helping some really nice people out with various design and web solutions which I took no money for but instead was paid by other means and a sort of bartering of services took shape. It was always the intention to start charging properly but only asking for small amounts in return. The Alchemy section over at the good ship Etsy is an ideal place to do this, reading the projects people are up to all over the globe and bidding for custom work
With that in mind I’m about to launch a little project of mine which has been in the making for some time now. Titled The Rusty Rocket the plan is to use this site as a means to display a few samples of whatever I’m working on at the time be it badges, tshirts etc which will hopefully make for an interesting and varied shop whilst also using it as a springboard to bid for work.
I’ve got it linking into Etsy to allow people to browse products further before hopefully deciding to purchase. I’m working on a widget which will pull through items a little better than whats being displayed at present, so things remain very much in a state of change. Whats really pleasing is that I set up the shop only last week and popped a couple of things on to get some practice and already I have sold four badges and a few sheets of stickers. This is before the more interesting products get posted towards the end of the year.
