We have returned from spending a great couple of days with Devon friends who sadly don’t have a blog but if they did it would probably start with the line “Today we made sprout burgers”. Totnes is a great place to visit and we’ve made the trip on a couple of occasions (here in 2007 and 2008).
Sadly I don’t own an artist’s beret (the accessory which is standard issue in an arty place like Totnes) so the new cap had to do and once our camouflage was complete we headed in to look around the place. Since we were there last theres been a couple of great shops which have moved in, one junk shop in particularly which I was rather fond of but all the little galleries and curiosity shops were all great to look around.

As weather conditions were just about right for obtaining a few perfect shots of the River Dart, the men decided to gather some watercolour material on bikes which seemed like a great idea but I soon realised the only level part of the route was the path from the rear of the house where the bikes were stored to the front where we began our adventure. Although muddy and steep, the views were more than worth it and cameras were slowly filled up with great shots as we patiently waited for the light to behave. My previous post here was the halfway point of our journey.
Whilst on a much appreciated downhill run on the return leg, there was a very brief gap in the tall hedgerow which exposed a fantastic view complete with the obligatory old stone hut.

Did I mention our friends are fine cooks too? This fantastic day was finished off with great homecooked food which sadly didn’t involve any sprout burgers.
