I have always liked the idea of one day illustrating a children’s book. It was hoped that the wife (who knows some really long words) would put pen to paper and produce the next Harry Potter with myself painting my way through her story. The ultimate husband and wife team of children’s literature - it still could happen. In the meantime its always good to practice so taking a book off one of our cases I started to read a brief extract involving the space adventures of a couple of children. It mentioned guns which although not well described still had a feel of the old Flash Gordon about it. So researching classic ray gun models I drew up a couple of concepts.
Although they have an air of school boy doodle about them, the hand drawn look is very much in at the minute (just check out these hand drawn web designs here) and I like it.

These are AWESOME! What are the odds that someone may be able to purchase one of these… The artwork, not the actual weapons.

Hi, thanks for your kind comments. I actually sold these on Etsy whilst having a clear out. I don’t have much in my shop at the moment but have plans to fill it with various creations later on this year so stay tuned. http://www.etsy.com/shop/rustyrocket
Thanks again.
