A rather nice Winsor & Newton watercolour postcard pad crossed my way recently and from then on I’ve been itching to put it to good use. I think postcards are great and hark back to a more innocent time before everything went digital. Regular readers will know that I participate in a worldwide postcard project called Post Crossing and have received many wierd and wonderful postcards from people who are as equally wierd and wonderful.
I’ve always tried to make the cards I send round the world a little different, painting a small design on the back and writing around it (like here) but now I’m going to start producing postcards myself as I’ve always appreciated original cards when they’ve landed in the mailbox from far off lands.
So whilst the boy was sleeping I dug out the pad and starting putting pen to paper. It always makes me nervous drawing in pen as I find it to be rather unforgiving when it comes to mistakes. However the roses came up, well like roses though I think I should have left them as penned instead of painting them as I thnk they look better in mono. I have just found out these will be both leaving for corners of Europe on Monday.
