Getting Back In The Saddle

I’m getting back into the swing of things as I dust down the old bike, give it an oil and try and get into a regular routine of running and cycling. Earlier this week I took a trip out onto Salisbury Plain and chose this route I haven’t done in over six months.

Whilst passing through the village on my way out I noticed this small field of dandelions right next to the vets. At first I thought it was even more oilseed rape that had been planted around the place but got a surprise when I took a closer look. I imagine they’re comfort food for all the vet’s sick tortoises. Either that or they do a nice sideline in Dandelion and Burdock.

Whenever I take a ride out of the village I’m always discovering something new and I guess this is why I love living where I do, that and the fact that I can be in the middle of nowhere in a matter of minutes. Ok, theres a slight risk of getting run over by a tank or coming across something unexploded but its always good discovering old army debris.

This is definately the first of many rides out on the Plain this year as theres still so much to explore. Of course you hear rumours of yet more adandoned and mock villages out there which I would love to discover (like I have done here and here) but you sometimes also get to hear about strange sightings in the sky too. I was fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of something last year (click here to see my grainy ufo video) but at the minute I’m holding out for evidence that they have a Stargate hidden out there.
