Nothing can prepare you for when your little one gets ill. You know its going to happen but when it does its horrible to see. Last week we all went for for our baby swimming lesson up at the hospital like we do every week but it looks like we came away with something a little extra in the form of the norovirus which is apparently doing the rounds up there.
It took a day to really kick in and show any signs but when it did Charlie and I were 196 miles from home visiting family which made it even worse as I knew I would have to subject the little chap to the long journey back.
Well, when we did get home the infection spread round the house making us all poorly in the process. Luckily theres light at the end of the tunnel for one little boy as he starts to feel a little more like himself after a week of illness. I took the week off work to spend time with him and accompany him on his adventures but all I’ve done is look after him and have become ill in the process. I’m still glad that I managed to spend that time with him though, we’ve become closer as a result.

The scientist in me prompted me to look into this norovirus a bit more and it turns out its one hard bugger as a visit to this NHS site will show you. I know I shouldn’t but the comments left at the bottom of the page by worried idiots made me laugh somewhat.
Now wash your hands after reading this please.
