The Artisan Market

Another trip to Frome’s Artisan Market was made this morning. We last visited about a month before Charlie was born (read the post here) so I was quite excited to return again.

We started at the bottom and worked our way up to the top but when we set off up the hill it was clear things were a little different as there were fewer stalls than last time. The ones that were there though were still selling some pretty creative goods though not in the variety as before. I spied one selling some rather impressive homemade cards and letter writing sets which I found interesting when trying to reverse engineer them in my head in an attempt to work out how they made them.

I had Charlie on my back and I have to say its a very good workout for the old legs navigating a busy crowd whilst walking up the steep hill to the top. I noticed the crowd had changed too and not for the better, this one was a little on the rude side - its as if the market is attracting a different audience.

I also remember on our last visit several stalls selling zines made by the stall holders and their friends. I didn’t take any of mine to try and trade but took some of my cards along instead. Unfortunately the stalls I enjoyed before were not there today but the trip out to the market still made for an enjoyable day out but not as inspiring as hoped.
