Signal Update

This weekend saw the post being painted for our working garden railway signal and its really good to see it finally taking shape.

I posted a photograph of my progress on Twitter and got three messages from followers suggesting the best way to automate it - cheers guys. I now have a series of great ideas to consider and play around with. One involved a rainwater collection and tipping idea which I rather like the sound of.

Once its up and running, thoughts will then turn to what data it will represent and I like the idea of temperature. The higher the temperature in the garden, the higher the arm of the signal will be. Another ambitious idea would be to link it up to my virtual train timetable I put together at the start of the year.
