Cheddar Gorge

This weekend saw us camping in Cheddar Gorge with a number of families from our village. Hot, hot, hot but at least the caves were nice and cool when went exploring in them.

Osmington Bay

This weekend five families from the village and the Whitworths went camping at Osmington Bay. We all had a great time exploring the coastal walks and pub though glad to be home and drinking a decent cup of tea that hasn’t been brewed in a hedge.

Camping at Combe Martin

We are back after spending an enjoyable few days camping with friends at Combe Martin. The Campsite was a nice find with sea views with regular dolphin appearances every evening. It also had it own little cove that we visited along with other nice beaches we discovered in the area. Unfortunately the campsite’s involved a descent of 253 steep steps that turned into an ascent of 253 steps a few hours later.

Camping in Cornwall

We are back from a camping adventure in Cornwall. The drive down is always a long and painful one so this year we stopped off overnight with friends in Totnes. We also met up with friends who I work with and ate out on Porthtowan beach which has to be one of the prettiest beaches. It was lovely seeing everyone.

We camped just outside Newquay on a great little campsite where Charlie soon made friends and before long was sat in another tent of one of his new friends negotiating a second dinner with their parents. It was a really friendly place.

If there was a theme to the holiday it would have to be steam trains, we have been on so many of them since we left home. Totnes boasted two whilst the Lappa Valley had enough to quench any boys’ thirsts for more. It’s going to be pretty difficult to beat this record in a hurry.
